Infosys, IT service provider based in Bengaluru, is seeing a hike in cloud-based services as it entered into partnerships with big cloud providers like Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Amazon Web Services to help its clients to shift their applications from conventional IT infrastructure to cloud.

Infosys is betting big on the growth to increase digital services. Head of infrastructure and cloud at Infosys, Narsimha Rao Mannepalli stated that the company has higher expectations about the work of this unit than from some of its other service lines. Mannepalli added that this platform will get a lot of IT spend but opportunities would rise as well.

Reports cite, growth and development of cloud services will be three times that of the entire IT services by 2022. The estimated growth of public cloud service market globally is expected to reach $331 billion by 2022, up from $182.4 billion it was in 2018.

Salil Parekh, CEO at Infosys stated that company has internally decided to attain 50% of its income from digital services, increasing from 35.7% it was during June’s quarter. Digital services recorded a 41.9% growth rate in the June quarter.

Mannepalli also said that the 50% target can only be achieved if the company continues doing well on its cloud side. It is not likely to reach the target if the cloud side is not record a success. The company aims to look further into getting enterprise contracts by providing infrastructure transformations, cloud advisory services, digital experiences and helping to build new business models.

Mannepalli added that North America will continue to showcase the greatest traction for services, followed closely by Europe, while bets into cloud are being made in Australia. Infosys currently has a thousand users in its client list, thus the cloud revenues would also reflect the entire company’s revenue.
