Oath Inc, a subsidiary of the U.S. based telecommunications conglomerate Verizon Communications Inc, has apparently announced to have inked an agreement with electronics and media industry leader Samsung. According to reliable sources, the deal would allow Oath to preload four of its most popular apps on millions of Samsung smartphones.

As per the terms of the agreement, Oath’s four apps including Yahoo Finance, Newsroom, Go90 mobile video, and Yahoo Sports would be pre-populated on all Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones. According to authentic sources, the latest deal is part of an effort of Oath to get its partners’ ads and digital content reach out to the increasing number of smartphone users.

Commenting on the latest partnership, Chief Executive Officer of Oath Inc, Tim Armstrong was quoted stating that the skyrocketing content consumption on smartphones has presented massive opportunities and consumers need more high-quality content. He further stated that the new deal gets ads one step closer to being direct on the home screen of the smartphones of customers.

As per trusted sources, the deal would also enable advertisers to place ‘native ads’ that integrate with the content on the basis of whether they appear on Samsung’s Galaxy apps or within Oath’s apps. Reportedly, Oath and Samsung would share the ad revenue that would be generated from the pre-loaded apps.

Industry experts claim that electronics and media market space has been witnessing an extensive transformation as more number of customers have been preferring smartphones over satellite and cable television to watch their favorite shows.

Reportedly, the apps would initially be preloaded on Samsung devices across the U.S. and would be made available globally later. Oath plans to announce its latest agreement with Samsung in New York on Tuesday, as the firm gears up to outline its strategy for the year to media buyers.
