Emirates, Air Canada, Air India and others to resume Toronto flights

Air Canada has reportedly recommenced all flight operations in India, after a long halt of four months owing to the life-threatening second wave of COVID-19. Along with this, other airlines have also restarted their flights between Canada and India, which includes British Airways, United Airlines, Delta Airlines among others.

Passengers can book their tickets from the official website of the airlines. Tickets can also be bought through online ticketing platforms like EaseMyTrip, MakeMyTrip, Goibibo among others.

The Air Canada flight rates are in the range of USD 1,300 to more than USD 6,000, depending on the class and date of travel. For September 30, the Emirates flights from Mumbai to Toronto are selling tickets for as much as ?5.47 lakh for a one-way journey.

All passengers traveling to Canada will have to get a negative result for the Rapid PCR Test or RT-PCR Test from the testing lounge at Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3. The validity of the test is for 18 hours before the departure. No other test conducted within an Indian clinic will be accepted.

All the passengers planning to travel must be double vaccinated. The Canadian government has recognized the following vaccines- Moderna, Covishield, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson. All the necessary documentation must be uploaded on ArriveCan-Online before the flight departure.

Passengers planning to travel to Canada can keep themselves updated on Canada.ca, the official website of the government of Canada.

On April 24, 2021, Canada suspended all private and commercial passenger flights from India. This was around the time the cases of COVID-19 were increasing in the South Asian nation. Over two lakh Indians lost their lives in the second wave of the outbreak that lasted between April to May 2021.

For the record, Air Canada is the largest airline and the flag carrier of Canada in terms of passengers carried and fleet size.
