Good Capital announces $25M fund to invest in unique startups

  • Good Capital is planning to invest $100 to $2M in pre-seed to Series A round of funding

  • It will invest in startups that have unique ideas and understanding of market conditions

Good Capital, an early-stage investment firm, has reportedly announced a fund of $25 million to invest in startups. The venture fund, with brothers Arjun and Rohan Malhotra as its founders, has wound up its first close at $12 million two months ago and is expecting to have a final close in the next 10 months.

Apparently, Good Capital has been planning to invest amounts from $100k to $2 million in the pre-seed to Series A rounds of funding. The company has also announced that it will invest in an e-commerce platform based on videos, called SimSim, as well as Spatial, a cross-reality platform.

The company has stated that it backs entrepreneurs who have studied the sector of their startup minutely and base their investments on unique ideas and the understanding of the market conditions. The company has led a seed funding round of 2.5 million in SimSim, an e-commerce platform based on videos seeking to replicate the offline consumption behavior into online via interactive experiences.

Arjun Malhotra, founder of Good Capital said that the company has been planning to fund entrepreneurs who focus on areas that are underserved as well as startups that work on the ground level for a better understanding of the market and opportunities. Rohan and Arjun have reportedly built a reputation for their firm by taking early risks on startups like HyperTrack, Autonomic, Meesho.

Arjun further informed that the market’s top 50 million is globally homogeneous in behavior, preferences, etc. The sectors for the next 350 million have not been defined clearly as of now.

Seemingly, the fund for Good Capital will be overseen by the investment committee that includes Sanjay Kapoor, former Airtel CEO and is now working as a senior advisor at BCG; Kashyap Deorah, founder of HyperTrack and Trifecta Capital founder Rahul Khanna.
