Hyundai completes durability tests of its 3-row SUV, Alcazar

Hyundai, a South Korean automotive manufacturer, has recently announced the completion of the durability tests of its much-awaited, 3-row SUV, Alcazar.

Alcazar will reportedly come along with enhanced features including ‘go-anywhere’ abilities, high performance, drivability, and comfort. In addition, the product has been tested on a variety of weather and terrain conditions, such as hill areas, highways, and rough roads. From the product trailer video released recently by the automaker, its pronounced C-Pillar, diamond-cut alloys as well as LED headlights have been noticed.

This new vehicle is based on the well-known Creta SUV and marks the company’s 1st entry into the 3-row SUV segment in India. The automaker had claimed to have received above 14,000 bookings for this Creta SUV in over 15 days, with 50% of the bookings attributed to the diesel variants. This 2nd-generation version of the SUV also consists of various drive modes, paddle shifters, traction control, electric parking brake, fuel efficiency, as well as other prominent features.

The South Korean automaker is gearing up to rapidly launch Alcazar in the Indian market. The product, which is also expected to be powered by a 1.5-liter diesel engine and a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine, may get a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and 6-speed manual gearbox. Other mile-long lists of its features include automatic climate control, large main infotainment screen, large sunroof, wireless phone charging, and air purifier, among others.

Hyundai has assured users of the spacious cabin and dominant road presence through this new SUV. The company is further expecting significant growth in the adoption of the new product in the 3-row SUV segment, following the success of Creta. Apart from Hyundai, several other automakers have also launched and witnessed massive deployment of their vehicles in this segment, which include MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari.
