IDEMIA-Honeywell join hands to develop intelligent building ecosystem

Connected buildings industry leader Honeywell and AR global leader IDEMIA have reportedly inked a strategic collaboration for the development of an intelligent building ecosystem. Geared towards providing a seamless and improved experience to occupants and operators alike, the partnership will bring together the robust security and building management systems of Honeywell and the biometric-based access control system of IDEMIA to develop more efficient and safer buildings.

The collaborative effort between the two companies is intended for the design of solutions that will facilitate seamless contactless engagement of occupants with the building. These range from vehicle recognition in the car parks, to automatic elevator calls, to personalized settings in conference rooms to biometric-based access. These next-gen features are being developed with an aim to enhance data privacy and security, and create a more enjoyable building experience that will help attract more tenants in the long run.

Chief technology, chief product officer and VP of Honeywell Building Technologies, Manish Sharma has reportedly stated that by working in collaboration with IDEMIA, the company would be able to produce a smarter building ecosystem, that is better equipped to handle key challenges of their customers, and facilitate better interactions and experiences of occupants with the buildings, be it a hospital, an airport or a commercial office building.

CEO of Secure Enterprise Transactions Division, IDEMIA, Matt Cole also spoke about the alliance, commenting that the company is looking forward to the expansion of its long-standing association with Honeywell, to bring more valuable and integrated solutions to customers for seamless building experiences.

IDEMIA and Honeywell’s partnership will help deliver powerful integrations via joint product roadmaps and aligned product development. These integrations will enable building operators to ensure swift and efficient responses to incidents or alarms, by delivering an incident workflow package designed to facilitate SOP (standard operating procedure) configuration, and minimize security risks, response times and compliance exceptions.
