The construction division of Larsen & Toubro Ltd. has reportedly bagged a contract to develop one of the largest residential townships in Bengaluru.
The project comprises the construction of nearly 6,768 apartments, spanned across 39 towers with 27 to 31 floors, two basements along with the ground. In addition, the development also entails 149 villas along with swimming pools, clubhouses, and other amenity structures. The overall built-up area will be nearly 13.43 million sq. ft.
The company did not reveal the value of the deal. The project is slated to be completed in 42 months.
The scope of the work comprises the construction and design of the overall civil structure, including masonry, waterproofing, electrical conduiting, and plastering.
Apart from supporting urban developments, L&T is undertaking important projects in rural areas.
For instance, the company recently announced that its Water and Effluent Treatment Business subsidiary has bagged a repeat order from the SWSM (State Water & Sanitation Mission), Uttar Pradesh to develop rural water supply projects offering FHTC (Functional House Tap Connections) under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
According to the regulatory filing, the business has been endowed to develop rural water supply projects serving the potable water necessities of 1,900 villages in the Prayagraj district’s Prayagraj Revenue Division.
The scope of the work includes construction of Pump Houses cum Chlorination Rooms, Treatment Systems, Overhead Tanks, Tube Wells, Solar Plants, Staff Quarters, Rising Main & Distribution Pipeline Network, Individual House Connections comprising allied works of Electromechanical & Automation.
It should be noted that the business is already implementing water supply schemes for SWSM in the districts of Banda, Mahoba, Gonda, Chitrakoot, Lucknow, Varanasi, and Sonbhadra.
Furthermore, the Water and Effluent Treatment Business’ Smart Water Infrastructure segment has been granted a contract for a unified infrastructure project in the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
